    Dreams Manifested

I want to share a short story of how dreams can manifest when we line up with the version of us that already is that and allow that version to come forward.

First I'm going to tell a story and then I will share what opportunity just opened up for me.

There was a time when I was really struggling to make my dreams come true and like most I thought if I just work harder and push to make it happen it would pay off. However, the stress was always taking me down long before any reward.

Then someone told me the story of the doll maker....

"This sweet woman lived in a house out in the country where she made dolls. The dolls were her joy and she created them for just that. She had a dream that one day her dolls would bring joy to many.

She didn't leave the house often, didn't have much communication with the outside world and yet everyday she could see her dolls on the shelves of stores bringing joy to many. She had no desire to figure out how to make that happen. She simply wanted to be in the joy of making the dolls.

One day a car broke down in front of her house and a man came knocking on her door to ask to use the telephone. When he stepped into her house his face lit up when he saw all her dolls. He just happened to be the CEO of a company in the city that sells items just like her dolls. He loved them so much he asked her if she would allow him to put the dolls on his store shelves. All she had to do was make the dolls and collect the check and he would take care of the rest...."

I have had many many experiences like this where something that seems impossible lines up right at my door step. (Even met my husband when he came to my door one day!)

Here is the latest opportunity that came to me this weekend.

I make friendship bracelets and sell them on Etsy.

I started doing this with my daughter a few years ago as her homeschool entrepreneurship project and then I continued as they brought back a time in my life when I was a creative joyful child.

Turns out there is a high demand for these friendship bracelets and I get consistent orders. However, I can not sell these particular embroidery floss bracelets for very much so I end up making about 15 cents an hour. They are a labor of love that spread joy to others, so I don't mind.

It is a running joke in our family that I always come up with the most creative businesses that don't make any money. Others have suggested I make my bracelets out of other materials so I can make a profit.....but I love embroidery floss, the colors, the softness....I have always turned around and said one day my love for friendship bracelets is going to provide financially for us and spread joy all over the world.

On Friday I was contacted by someone claiming to be the Marketing Coordinator for DMC in the USA. (DMC is the brand of embroidery floss I make my bracelets out of and is a huge corporation internationally, one of the best quality floss brands). They said they are looking for a friendship bracelet influencer to do a collaboration with them on a marketing campaign.

So of course I do what any rational, but curious person would do.

    1. Assume this is a scam.

    2. tell them I am not an influencer who uses social media, nor am I interested in having one, but I would be happy to make bracelets for their marketing. (I actually do have a facebook page but hardly use it)

    3. tell them I will consider this opportunity if I can have an in person meeting (zoom).

I got an email back this morning saying no problem. They want to pay me to do a collaboration with Michaels arts and craft stores teaching a 1 hour virtual class on how to make my flower chain bracelets with their embroidery floss. They are happy to set up a zoom meeting to talk further. (head explosion emoji)

They are not a small mom and pop shop... DMC is a huge international corporation and this isn't at 1 store, it is nationally.

...And a funny side note is I applied last year for a part time retail job at the local Michaels store here and was told I didn't have enough retail experience to "ring up art supplies at the register"....even though 16 year olds are hired for those minimum wage jobs. I guess consciousness was like, nah, something better is coming.

I did google this person and discovered they are in fact the marketing coordinator for DMC USA, not a scam.

I am an influencer...in that I influence others to follow their joy. I have never taught an online bracelet making class before. I am a woman who lives rurally in the Arizona desert and makes friendship bracelets for fun. I do not advertise at all, and yet people keep finding me. There are around 900 shops on Etsy that make friendship bracelets. How about that for manifesting a dream, without having to do anything to make it happen? Not just a dream, but one that seems so unlikely I have to laugh at the thought. We all have the ability to focus and line up with our desires.... patience is key.

Now time to get back to my real job/other passion..... teaching holistic nutrition at the Energetic Health Institute. 😊🌵
